In these classes I take capoeira out of its cultural context, but keep its typical physicality, movement, body communication and game principles as a base - for dance. Further is the traditional structure of capoeira opened to more improvisation and working with experimental music, rhythm and live sounding.
The technical training aims at expanding movement vocabulary and in creating a game in which we continuously meet and challenge each other - physically and creatively. The aim of the challenge is to develop skills, get to understand ourselves and how we relate to 'other players/movers' - playfully.

The elements, we will work with are:
- staying based/rooted in movement
- basic movement technique and principles of the game: ‘question'&‘answer(and new question)' in dancing
- dance sequences
- bringing improvisation in the set sequences and ‘conversation', while continuing challenging each other
- upside down transitions in movement (cartwheels, head and hand stands etc...)
- basic acrobatics and their integration
- different levels of movement: low (often hands and feet on the floor), middle(standing low), high (standing)
- choices in attitude during improvisation and choreo

1st class €7,50
1 class (‘pop-in') €12,50
10 class card (valid also for Physical Modern* on Fridays) €100,00 - must be used within 4 months

Combi-discount for Physical Modern* and Breaking Down Capoeira €65,00 per month

To avoid misunderstanding:
As I partly changed the structure of the game and don't use traditional capoeira music instruments (that are a very important and integral part of capoeira), I don't call these classes capoeria classes. For traditional capoeira classes, check Capoeira Senzala Amsterdam or other capoeira schools in your surroundings.
