New Dance Studios (NDS) are situated on the ground floor of the Volkskrantbuilding.

NDS offers 2 studios fully equipped with:

  • Surface of around 110m2
  • High ceiling (4m)
  • High mirrors (2.20m)
  • Professional floating dance floors with heavy duty dance vinyl (2m x 2mm)
  • Professional sound systems
  • Barres
  • Airconditioning (NEW! 01-09-2011)

The studios can be used for rehearsals, workshops and classes.

Food, drinks, street shoes, white soles, heals and smoking are NOT allowed in the studios.

Studio 2: 110m2 (8m x 12-16m because of a diagonal wall)

Opening hours: 08:00 AM - 10:30 PM Every Day

Rental times

Rehearsals
- mon/fri ~ from 08:00 - 18:00
- sat/sun ~ from 08:00 - 22:30
- in blocks, minimum 4 hours (or else a surcharge will be applicable)

Weekly Classes
- mon/fri ~ from 08:00 - 18:00 on request
- mon/fri ~ from 18:00 - 22:30 in blocks of 1,5 hours: 18:00-19:30 / 19:30-21:00 / 21:00-22:30
- sat/sun ~ from 08:00 - 22:30

Workshops and other
- on request

Hourly Rates

(new season starting 01-09-2011!!)

To help especially the starting dance artists and companies, we apply price differentiation.
That means the rates are budget dependent with a minimum since we are not subsidized.
This enables us to open our doors for a broad audience.

To give you a general indication the following MINIMUM hourly rates (excluding 19% VAT) apply:

- Rehearsals (non-commercial)       : from Euro 15,00 (a minimum of 4 hours)*
- Weekly classes                             : from Euro 25,00 (with a yearcontract)
- Incidental class/Workshops/Other: from Euro 33,00

Rehearsalsession of 4 hours:
- Non-commercial: from Euro 60,00
- Commercial       : from Euro 120,00

Rehearsalsession of 8 hours:
- Non-commercial: from Euro 100,00
- Commercial       : from Euro 200,00

All rates are excluding 19% VAT!
The 19% VAT can be reimbursed through your VAT-return.

*Note: extra discount possible for non-commercial productions based on production budget.

Yearcontract (12 months)

Benefits:

  • No administration fee
  • 2 weeks free rental (50 weeks instead of 52)
  • 2 months trial period
  • 2 months starters discount
  • Discounted hourly rate (25,00 instead of 33,00)
  • Fixed monthly rate (1/10 or 1/12)
  • Priority booking for extra hours
  • Same rate for extra workshops/hours (25,00 instead of 33,00)

Special off-peak rates

For the following hours:
- 08:00-10:00 Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun
- 18:00-22:30 Sat/Sun

these special rates apply:

excluding 19% VAT/hour:
- Rehearsals (non-commercial)       : from Euro 10,00 (a minimum of 4 hours)
- Weekly classes                             : from Euro 15,00 (with a yearcontract)
- Incidental class/Workshops/Other: from Euro 25,00

Photo shoots, film shoots, commercial events, etc.

New Dance Studios can also accommodate photo shoots, film shoots, and a variety of other events. Please note that special rental rates apply.

Booking and payment policies

Reservations have to be confirmed by e-mail and are only valid after confirmation.
Payments must be received 7 days prior to the rental date.
If rentals are booked less than 48 hours in advance, cash payment is required.

Renter must cancel 7 days in advance in order to receive credit.
